Carrying on the 120-year history of local ownership in Western New York state, the current owner of Dahlstrom Roll Form has decided to step down and sell the business, over time, to experienced company officers.
Robert White, Dahlstrom owner since 2007, will phase out of daily operating duties and the business will transition to Jeremy Blum, President and CEO along with Brad Renwick, COO. Mr. White will remain on a consulting basis after January 1, 2025.
Nothing will substantially change with Dahlstrom. Blum and Renwick acquiring Dahlstrom was a developed strategy with consistency and longevity in mind. All can feel confident that their proven business and technical acumen are more than sufficient to carry on the high level of service Dahlstrom is known for.
Keeping ownership local will help ensure the company continues operating in Chautauqua County far into the future, according to Mark Geise, Deputy County Executive for Economic Development and Chief Executive Officer of the Chautauqua County Industrial Development Agency.
“It is essential that the CCIDA supports local manufacturers, such as Dahlstrom Roll Form, especially when that assistance results in local ownership,” Geise said. “Robert White has been terrific in ensuring the company remains locally-owned and competitive on the global stage, and I have every confidence that Jeremy and Brad, as well as their tremendous workforce, will do the same.”
The Dahlstrom companies have produced fabricated metal products for over 120 years. In fact, Charles Dahlstrom, the company’s founder, had a patent on the first fire-rated steel door in the United States. Shortly after its inception in 1904, The Dahlstrom Metallic Door Company started a custom roll forming division to trim early steel entry doors and elevator doors with fireproof metal trim.
Over the following decades and a few ownership changes, the Dahlstrom Manufacturing Company was born. Dahlstrom continued to produce custom-fabricated metal cabinetry, industrial assemblies, and roll formed profiles until the company was broken up and sold in the mid-1990s. The independent Dahlstrom Roll Form Corporation was one of these resulting entities created in 1995 by local Jamestown, NY entrepreneurs. The company has grown substantially since then concentrating on roll formed industrial profiles and decorative metal mouldings.
“Dahlstrom Roll Form has a storied manufacturing legacy in Chautauqua County and it’s great to see that continue with the new ownership, who will help provide stable, good-paying jobs to our residents,” said PJ Wendel, Chautauqua County Executive. “Congratulations to Mr. Blum and Mr. Renwick in their roles as new owners, and thank you to Mr. White for helping to build on and preserve the Dahlstrom legacy with his decision to move to a newer, more modern facility a short time ago. This support by the CCIDA illustrates the important role the agency plays in our local economy.”
